Local city, county and state officials - legislators, commissioners and councilmen, city, county and state employees, public/private company employees (some of whom may hold work-contracts with local city, county, state agencies/departments) cooperative employees and directors (some of whom also serve on CUS board which operates and maintains electric system on Maxwell/Gunter AFB) Only a small number of invited attendees would be elected officials or government employees.
Purpose/Event:
The Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives is sponsoring a golf tournament and providing all hospitality for said event. This event will take place at the RTJ Capital Hill in Prattville Alabama. The tournament is an event where Cooperatives and their employees have the opportunity to interact with a variety of consumer members of the Cooperative. Information will be provided to the attendees that will update them on actions and the outlook of the Cooperative. Prior to lunch and golf, the attendees gather together and are informed about a number of topics, this educational portion will last for approximately 45 minutes. At the golf tournament, players receive a round of golf (cart/green fees) lunch, snacks off beverage cart, and food at reception following. They receive gifts for playing which in the past have included hats, shirts, and wind breakers; and winners receive gift cards. Value of the event to players, excluding winners, is $140 to $190. The gift cards for longest drive, closest to pin, and 1st, 2nd, 3rd place range from $100 to $200. AREA and its members understand that all public employees and elected officials that attend are only allowed to receive promotional items or other items that fall into the de minimis classification. *Could not get confirmation on the actual date of the event.
