Sherry Ashe, Principal at Valley High School, Kimberely Maddox, Special Education Teacher at J.P. Powell Middle School and Yolanda Jones, Math Teacher at J.P. Powell Middle School have been invited among others to attend the 2019 Global Studies in Education-South Korea Program. They will spend 10 days in South Korea touring the kindergarten through twelfth grade schools and meeting with South Korean teachers, not in her capacity as an employee of the Chambers County Board of Education, but in her sole capacity for professional development. Auburn University is paying for transportation, lodging and (most) meals. Auburn receives funding from private donors. Nothing is provided by the BOE to these teachers. Each teacher has to pay $500 of their own money for the trip.
