Purpose/Event:
PowerSouth Energy Cooperative is hosting the Empower Energy Education Workshop in Destin, Florida. The purpose of the Workshop is to provide educators with a supplemental curriculum about the production, transmission and distribution of electrical energy and the challenges of generating and delivering electricity reliably and affordably. PowerSouth has partnered with the National Energy Education Development (NEED) Project to develop the program that will be presented, as well as the activities and curriculum provided to attendees. The Workshop includes the following per Teacher: Teacher Backpacks - $44.38 (T-shirt, luggage tag, folder) Hotel Room - $1,212.00 (3 nights at $404 each) NEED Kit - $330 (Science of Energy Kit and Curriculum) Empower Gift Box - $90 (Welcome gift for all teachers) Meals - $526.30 (all meals and breaks provided during workshop) TOTAL - $2,202.68 Cost Per Teacher. There will be no additional gifts provided by the Owner-Members. However, one Owner-Member will be providing an additional night at the hotel where the conference is being held to only those teachers in their service territory (approximately 25 teachers). It is assumed that the nightly rate for this additional night is roughly equivalent to the nightly rate that is being provided by PowerSouth. *Please provide additional info. *Remember reporting requirements of 36-25-19 (expenses greater than $250/24-hr. period).
