Each of the CIOs from the State agencies that are a part of the CIO Council that Secretary Jim Purcell leads, the intelligent transportation systems team at ALDOT (Chris Hilyer and Michael Stokes) the facilities team lead by David Morrow and other who are yet to be identified.
Purpose/Event:
Cisco Systems is hosting a Smart Cities and Roadways Lunch and Learn event at the RSA Headquarters, 8th floor meeting room, 201 South Union Street, Montgomery, AL. The Topic of this event will be: Smart Cities and Intelligent Transportation Systems, connecting technology and infrastructure. As the State of Alabama continues to grow economically the infrastructure that supports our transportation systems and cities are becoming increasingly dependent on one another. In this lunch and learn participants will see real world examples of how cities and governments across the globe have solved similar problems facing shipping ports, interstates, and maintenance related services. Participants will be shown pre-planning that must be done, grants and other economic resources that are available to assist in the funding of initiatives, and real world examples of what has been achieved. This is an education event that will permit participants to hear directly from people who have been involved in these projects and ask questions about their experience in implementing the case studies that will be shared. Cost is less than $18 per person, including meal and facility. Meal will be catered by Baumhower’s Restaurant.
