Purpose/Event:
The Southeast Chapter of the American Concrete Pavement Association (ACPA) is conducting a series of tours of the 5 cement plants located in Alabama. One such tour will be held in the month of January at National Cement in Ragland, AL. The event will last from 11:30 AM- 2:00 PM and be followed by a separate ribbon cutting to commemorate the company’s recently announced expansion. The tour will be preceded by a catered lunch at the central office on site, with an individual cost of less than $50.00. During this time, an educational presentation will be made by a company representative on the economics of cement and its byproducts. After lunch, lawmakers will then be taken on a guided tour of the operations at the plant, which should last no more than 1 hour. The tour will conclude with a question and answer period for those who choose to participate. Event date changed from 1/30 to 1/31 per Will Fuller.
