Purpose/Event:
Alabama Independent Insurance Agents, Inc. will host a golf tournament fund raiser September 21st at Timberline Golf Club in Calera, Alabama. Our members from around the state register to play in the event and/or sponsor a team or teams in the tournament. We anticipate having 200 participants to attend for a day that includes golf in the morning and afternoon with a lunch between the two rounds of golf and a reception following the completion of play. Those in attendance will be provided with information that will educate them about the history of the Alabama Independent Insurance Agents, its activities and community involvement statewide. We would like to invite elected officials to participate in the lunch and reception as well as play golf as a part of a team sponsored by one of our members. Our association and political action committee do not provide funding to any participants in the golf outing. We depend on our membership to incur the expense for their golf teams. These members are individual agents and not principals of the association or lobbyists. One of the goals of our association is to allow our membership to meet their elected officials and get to know those who bear the burden of representing the people of Alabama. We understand that this event cannot be used as an opportunity to lobby for any legislation or try to influence any official actions. This is strictly a social event to allow our members and our elected officials an opportunity to get to know each other in a casual atmosphere. The lunch of hamburgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches will cost around $17.00 per person and the reception with heavy hors d'oeuvres will cost around $21.00 per person.
