Purpose/Event:
HBCU CARES (Historically Black Colleges and Universities - Consortium to Advance Research and Economic Strength) will host an Alabama HBCU Presidents' Day at the Capitol on Tuesday, April 25, 2023 in Montgomery, Alabama. During the Day at the Capitol, HBCU CARES will host the Presidents of Alabama's HBCUs and PBIs (Predominantly Black Institutions) in Montgomery for a day of discussion with state policy leaders about the post-pandemic impact to their student bodies and institutional growth. It will include luncheon in collaboration with the Alabama Black Caucus, a series of meetings with state leaders, and a closing reception on the campus of Alabama State University. The event will provide higher education leaders and policy makers an opportunity to engage about issues of importance to their respective constituencies, and will include educational components for all participants.
