Aside from members of the association who may be public officials, ALAJ plans to invite all appellate court judges in Alabama to the convention. There will be an appellate court panel on Friday, June 17 from 11:05 a.m. - 11:50 a.m. The panel participants are Justice Sara Stewart, Justice Jay Mitchell, and Judge Matt Fridy. Judge Burt Smithart and Judge Elisabeth French will be presenting on Friday June 17th, and former Judge Terri Lovell, now executive director of the Alabama State Bar, will be presenting on Saturday, June 18th. Although not yet confirmed, we hope also to have a federal judge speaking on jury charges.
Purpose/Event:
ALAJ will be holding its 2022 Annual Convention on June 16-18,2022, at The Henderson Resort in Destin. Florida. The conference is organized around a formal program or agenda of educational or informational sessions and/or other presentations concerning legal issues of interest to members of the Alabama Association for Justice. This is a widely attended event in which attorneys will have the opportunity to obtain continuing legal education credits.
